My boys and I loved our stay at Jilba in very comfortable and well equipped accommodation. Joan and Jim, thank you so much for the advice on the area, directions and chats. The boys loved having room to roam, seeing the new born calves, the kangaroos, plus spotting birds with your binoculars. We hope to be back soon. Thank you so much for providing such a beautiful place to escape the city. Wanda, Michael & Jamie Koops, Huntingdale, W.A. – April, 2017

We have travelled the globe for 48 years together, seen many places, many things ….this was up among the most pleasant “Ozzy” accommodation that we have stayed at…..rural and true….so nice, with such nice hosts….the birds – gardens – vista. Thank you. Chris and Paula, Potato Point, N.S.W. South Coast – July 2017

A lovely rural retreat with beautiful views, plenty of space and hot water, great amenities, including lots of DVDs to choose from, a large and well cared for garden and above all, very friendly and accommodating hosts. A very well appointed kitchen, with everything provided, including a good range of breakfast provisions, plus some snacks. Thanks, Joan, for allowing us to check out so late, so that we could shower and enjoy lunch on the balcony after climbing the Granite Skywalk. A real gem of a place and a great base for exploring the Porongurups, Stirling Ranges, Albany and Mount Barker. Highly recommended. Between beautiful sunsets, walking your precious land, we had a wonderful stay.  I wish all Americans could enjoy this. Thank you for your most kind hospitality!!  Ulli & Sheila Kuester, Spring Lake, Michegan, USA – April, 2018

My husband and I have just returned from a short winter break at Jilba Cottage. Can honestly say this is, by far, the best self contained accommodation we have encountered anywhere. The attention to detail and personal comfort is outstanding. The hosts are very welcoming, whilst at no time being in any way intrusive. Jim and Joan provided invaluable knowledge about the region’s many attractions. Jilba Cottage, is in addition to being exceptionally well appointed, has stunning views and a breathtaking backdrop of National Park. It was great to get so close to the amazing walks and award winning wineries. Already checking the diary for the next getaway! Paul and Helen Trigg, W.A. – June, 2018

Jilba Cottage is a gorgeous gem backing onto the beautiful Porongurup National Park with views all the way to the coast. The accommodation is perfect: clean, warm, spacious with lovely personal touches. The farm is also beautiful: the olive trees, cattle, avocado trees and green pastures are perfect for long walks and for kids to explore. With kangaroos grazing in the evening, birds aplenty and the beautiful surrounds, Jilba Cottage offers a serene base to explore the Porongurups, the Stirling Range and Albany. Gold star accommodation with the best hosts. Debbie, Greg, Olivia & Evan, Sorrento, W.A. – Jul, 2018

We stayed at Jilba for 11 days and it was just fabulous. We couldn’t imagine staying for a shorter period, there is just so much to see in the National Parks, surrounding districts and beyond. This area is amazing. The property is quiet, with just wakeup calls from the ravens and parrots. The cottage is just perfect, with everything one could want. Joan and Jim are awesome people, they are so keen to make the trip a memorable one and are so knowledgeable about the area. We loved their visits. Thank you for sharing your ‘home’ with us. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and would recommend Jilba Cottage without hesitation. Brent and Molly Page, Levin, New Zealand – October, 2018

Dear Joan and Jim.  We have so much enjoyed the tranquillity, the views, the gardens and the superb facilities.  It will be impossible for us to forget what we have found here.  Geoff Ward, Willston, Cheshire, U.K. and Debbie Bell, Great Horton, Bradford, U.K. – November, 2019

Dear Joan and Jim.  You have created such a wonderful place, we enjoyed our stay so much.  We admired all the plants in the garden, soooo… beautiful.  But most of all we liked talking to you, it was so interesting to  learn about the region and the people living here.  We are sure we will meet again.  Martina Markgraf and Thomas Scheinpflug, Germany – December, 2019

Thank you very much for everything.  We had a great stay at Jilba Cottage – everything we needed was present, great tasty things to eat and drink.  It was a great Christmas for us.  Herma Verhoef and Co Vavier, Liederforp, The Netherlands – Christmas, 2019

Thank you for an amazing and relaxing few days.  The cottage and surrounds were exactly what was needed.  We really appreciated the kind welcome, lovely breakfast and Jim’s advise on avoiding the wet weather!  We managed some beautiful walks locally – Castle Rock and Nancy’s Peak and even took your advice on local wineries – Ironwood and Castle Rock – both beautiful!  Came away with a few bottles too!  Thank you gain.  We would love to come back.  Louise Dawson and Dan Toleman, West Leederville, W.A. – June, 2020

Thank you so much for having us, Joan and Jim.  We loved staying at your place.  Joan and Jim have a gorgeous property around the corner from local vineyards, restaurants and hiking spots.  It is the perfect base camp for Bluff Knoll.  There were so many small, personal touches that make your stay a bit more special.  I highly recommend staying here.  Tess Hutton and Shaun Benwath, Canningvale, W.A. – September, 2020

Thank you for such a warm welcome and for providing everything we needed to have such a great break.  All your advice of places to visit and things to do was terrific.  Jilba Cottage is such a great base to explore further from Bluff Knoll, Albany and both the Stirling and Porongurup National Parks were easy to get to.  Your gardens and whole property are just beautiful.  So many places to walk, sit and enjoy the peace and quiet, or spend time with the wild life.  Thank you.  Lesley and Mark Barrett, Safety Bay, W.A. – October, 2020

A perfect home and garden/farm as a base to explore the beauties and wonders of God’s creation in the ancient Porongurups.  Walking trails to Castle Rock and Nancy’s Peak – terrific delights for a couple of energetic “Seniors”.  Happy memories of visits in past years.  Wildflowers tiny, but diverse and prolific.  Thank you for your care and hospitality, Joan and Jim.  Best wishes for the future.
